Cookie & Storage Policy
Effective Date: April 2, 2026 | Last Updated: April 2, 2026
1. What Are Cookies & Storage?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. Similar technologies include localStorage (persists until cleared) and sessionStorage (cleared when tab closes). These technologies help the Service remember your preferences, maintain your session, and function correctly.
The short version: We only use storage that is necessary for the app to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, analytics cookies, or any third-party marketing tools.
2. Cookies We Use
| Cookie Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Auth cookies | Essential | Maintains your signed-in session after Google Authentication | Session / up to 30 days |
uts_tos_accepted |
Functional | Remembers that you accepted the Terms of Service so you are not asked again on return visits | 1 year |
cookieyes-consent |
Stores your cookie consent preferences (set by CookieYes banner) | 1 year |
3. localStorage
localStorage persists in your browser until explicitly cleared. The app uses the following keys:
| Key | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
uts_data |
Essential | Backup copy of your dispatch data (drivers, weeks, logs, folders, company info) for offline resilience. Does not include uploaded file binaries. Also used as primary storage in local-only mode. |
uts_skip_auth |
Functional | Remembers if you chose to use the app in local-only mode without signing in |
google_access_token |
Essential | Google OAuth access token for Drive/Gmail integration |
google_client_id |
Functional | Your Google Cloud Client ID if manually entered for inbox scanning |
uts_drive_file_id |
Functional | Cached Google Drive file ID for faster cloud sync (avoids repeated API lookups) |
4. sessionStorage
sessionStorage is cleared when the browser tab is closed:
| Key | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
uts_authenticated |
Essential | Maintains your credential gate session within the current browser tab |
5. Third-Party Cookies
The following third-party services may set their own cookies:
| Service | Type | Purpose | More Info |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Auth) | Third-Party | Authentication and session management | Google Cookie Policy |
| Paddle | Third-Party | Payment processing and fraud prevention (on checkout pages only) | Paddle Cookie Policy |
| WordPress / Hostinger | Third-Party | Landing page functionality (utslogistics.net only) | Set by hosting platform for basic site functionality |
| CookieYes | Cookie consent banner management | CookieYes Privacy Policy |
6. What We Do NOT Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No tracking pixels or web beacons
- No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any analytics platform
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
- No third-party marketing scripts
We do not serve ads within the Service, and we do not share your data with advertising networks.
7. How to Manage Cookies & Storage
Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to control cookies and local storage through their settings. You can typically view and delete stored cookies and local storage data, block all cookies or only third-party cookies, and set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set.
Please note that disabling essential cookies or local storage will prevent the Service from functioning correctly.
Browser-Specific Instructions
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Clearing Specific Items
- Clear Terms acceptance: Delete the
uts_tos_acceptedcookie to be shown the Terms agreement page again on your next visit. - Clear localStorage: Open Developer Tools (F12) → Application tab → Local Storage → right-click and clear. Note this removes your local data backup.
- Clear cookies: Browser settings → Privacy/Security → Clear browsing data → Cookies. This will sign you out.
8. Do Not Track
The Service does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, as there is no industry standard for compliance. However, we do not use tracking cookies for advertising or profiling purposes.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie & Storage Policy when we add new features or integrate new services. If the changes are material, we will notify you via email at least 14 days in advance. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
